Cuban First Vice President Raul Castro is presiding
over the main event on International Workers
Day at the emblematic Revolution Square on Tuesday,
May first.
Hundreds of thousands of people are marching
and chanting slogans in support of the Revolution
and in condemnation of US protection of international
terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.
The march kicked off with a huge sign demanding
"prison for the executioner," referring
to Posada Carriles, the brains behind the blowing-up
of a Cuban civilian plane in mid-flight that
killed all 73 people on board.
Hundreds of young people led the march, illustrating
the importance of the youngest generations in
the present and future of Cuba's revolutionary
process.
